Eagles Women’s Basketball vs Randall University

Tying the young 2023-2024 season record for total turnovers forced, the Lady Eagles pulled out a dominating win over NCCAA Southwest opponent Randall University. With a slow start to the game and both teams only totaling 13 points in the first quarter, this made the Lady Eagles 54-34 win one of uniqueness.
 
After winning the first quarter 9-4, the Lady Eagles wanted to outperform their opening quarter. Following the break, the second quarter was much better. Turning up the defense and forcing 7 turnovers in the second quarter, the Lady Eagles entered halftime with a 25-12 lead. Coming out of halftime, the Lady Eagles were able to turn up the defense and pressure Randall once again into 11 third-quarter turnovers. With the Lady Eagles spreading out the scoring in the third quarter they outscored the Saints 20-9 in quarter number three. With a large lead entering the final quarter of the game, the Lady Eagles were able to coast to another dominant win over their opponent.
 
With a 13 point, 3 steal performance, Jenna Wolford led the Lady Eagles on the scoreboard, but it was Montse Torres with the performance of the night with 12 rebounds, (a career-high) 7 steals, and 5 points. With another impressive performance in her third career start, Kristin Mentzer recorded 9 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 steals. And rounding out tonight’s key players was freshman Sky Boyd who was just one rebound away from her first career double-double with 11 points and 9 rebounds.
