Eagles Women’s Basketball vs. Paine College of FL (W 86-60)

With their first matchup not going the way the Lady Eagles wanted, they got another chance to face Paine College at home. While none of the quarters were necessarily dominated, the Lady Eagles consistently won the game until the final buzzer sounded and they claimed the 86-60 victory over the Lady Lions.
 
After the first possession led to a steal and three-pointer by Jenna Wolford, the Lady Eagles were off to a game-opening 14-4 run. As the quarter continued, Paine nearly took the lead when they clawed back to a 14-13 deficit. With a three-pointer by Maddie Fowler, the Lady Eagles opened their lead back up and won the 1st quarter 21-17. Throughout the 2nd quarter, the Lady Eagle lead continued to grow. As the teams entered the half, the Lady Eagles commanded a 42-30 lead over Paine College.
 
As the second half opened and progressed, the Lady Eagles continued to dominate both sides of the ball, forcing 14 TO and scoring 44 points in the second half the Lady Eagles were able to claim the win 86-60. With their first matchup of the season resulting in a 37-49 loss, the Lady Eagles more than doubled their score and held Paine to the same point total. Offensively, the Lady Eagles were led by a 24-point performance from senior Jenna Wolford who went 6-11 from behind the arc. Closely following, Sky Boyd had her second 20-point performance of her career on 4-13 FG shooting and 4-4 FT shooting. Leah Phelps also contributed with 16 points, going 7-7 from the FT line.
