Eagles Women’s Basketball vs Trinity College of Florida

After a hot first and third quarter, the Lady Eagles never looked back. Although Trinity College put a few runs together ultimately the Lady Eagles coasted to their fourth victory of the season over their first NCCAA South Region opponent of the season.
 
With the first shot of the game falling for Montse Torres the team was immediately off to a 14-0 run to start the game. At the end of the first quarter, Trinity College found themselves down 26-14. After a slow start to the game, Trinity College turned around and outscored PCC 19-18 in the second quarter. All 18 second-quarter points for the Lady Eagles came from only three players, Jenna WolfordMontse Torres, and Kristin Mentzer. Although the Lady Eagles were outscored, they still commanded a 45-32 lead going into halftime.
 
Coming out of halftime the Lady Eagles once again had a dominating quarter, outscoring Trinity College 23-9 in the third quarter. With a slow fourth quarter, PCC had their lowest scoring quarter of the game with just 14 points, while Trinity College scored their highest quarter with 25 points. But in the end, it was the Lady Eagles who pulled out the 82-66 victory over their South Region opponent. Leading the Lady Eagles on the scoreboard was senior Jenna Wolford who recorded 24 points on 4/13 shooting from beyond the arc. However, it was Montse Torres who recorded her first double-double of the season with 12 points and 10 rebounds while also setting a new career high with 5 blocks!
