The Eagles entered tonight’s game looking for their first win of the season. Unfortunately, the Eagles fell short of their goal and lost their second game of the season to Crowleys Ridge College by a final score of 70-80.
After falling behind early 16-8, the Eagles had to play from behind for the majority of tonight’s game. As the Eagles battled, Brandtley Koske hit his first three of the season to pull the Eagles’ deficit to just one point with just over 5:30 to play in the first half. Unfortunately, the Pioneers put a 12-7 run together to end the half and enter the break with a 43-37 lead.
As the Eagles entered the second half, they knew something had to change if they wanted a chance to win. With the back-and-forth momentum of this game, the Eagles could never find a groove or the lead. With Crowley’s Ridge scoring the first basket of the game, the Eagles never had the lead in this game from the tip. The Eagles nearly put together a dangerous comeback beginning at the 11-minute mark. Being down by 14 it was less than three minutes, and the Eagles had the deficit cut to just 6 points. But with back-to-back baskets by CRC’s Braxton Cousins, the Pioneers regained a dominating lead and were able to pull out the ten-point victory over the Eagles.
