With some early drama in the match, the Eagles fell short of their NAIA opponent Talladega College reaching the Eagles 2nd loss of the season. After the game became a 10-on-10 match the Tornadoes netted the first goal of the game and ultimately stole the win from the Eagles by a final score of 3–1.
Inside the first two minutes of the match, a controversial red card was pulled on right-defensive back Luke Miklas, and no more than 5 minutes later another red card was pulled on the Talladega goalkeeper. With these two ejections, the game was 10-on-10 inside the first seven minutes of the game. In the 17th minute, Talladega opened the scoring off a corner kick. Although senior goalkeeper Denver Hader got a deflection on the shot, it was not enough to keep it out of the net, giving the Tornadoes a 1-0 lead entering halftime. Seven minutes into the second half, Talladega scored their second goal of the game gaining a 2-0 lead with 37 minutes remaining in the match. With 25 minutes remaining in the match, freshman Eric Romero took a freekick just inside of half field. With no deflections, the ball bounced over each player including the goalie, and bounced in for the Eagles’ first and only goal of the night. Unfortunately, the Tornadoes netted one more goal in the 78th minute, solidifying their win over the Eagles by a final score of 3-1.
