On the hunt for their eighth straight, the PCC Lady Eagles matched up against the TBC Lady Eagles. From the tip, PCC was dominant and commanded an early and hefty lead. After two career nights, the Lady Eagles pulled out the 97-45 win over TBC.
With Montse Torres opening the scoring by knocking down her second three of the season, PCC was off and running. Opening the game on a 13-4 run, the team was firing on all cylinders. In the first quarter, the Lady Eagles had seven players score and also set a new season-high with 31 points in the first quarter. With a 31-13 lead at the end of the 1st, PCC was confident in their eighth straight victory. With 5:21 left in the 2nd quarter, Lady Eagle senior Jenna Wolford hit a pullup three to net her 1,000th point of her career! With a timeout by Coach Sellars, the team came onto the court to celebrate this career milestone. As the quarter came to its end, the Lady Eagles commanded a 55-24 lead outscoring TBC 24-11 in the quarter.
As the second half opened, TBC came out aggressive and made the quarter a little bit tighter only losing the 3rd by a total of 8 points. With the bench players stepping up and scoring 42 total points, PCC outscored TBC 22-9 in the final quarter securing the Lady Eagles’ 52-point victory over the TBC Lady Eagles. With a career night, the Lady Eagles were led by Kristin Mentzer who made her sixth start of the season and set a new career high in scoring with 17 points and 10 rebounds! Off the bench, Kyelie Marquis set a new season-high 13 points on 5-6 shooting.
